Being in school for Business, thought this was an interesting read...
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/teaching-children-entrepreneurs-235100934.html Now I see can see what it's like to get behind quickly with school. I procrastinated one day and poof I feel like it's taking me 2 weeks to get caught back up. The joy of now having a printer at home (again) helps a lot too. My hand certainly doesn't get as tired by righting things down all the time. However, on to the next "I can't win for loosing"...Since this laptop didn't come with any form or Word I have to go out and buy that now too. I've been getting by with a free word processor I downloaded off the internet but as it turns out some things (like this weeks assignments of applying for a scholarship) are only able to be opened the "word" program of which I do not have. Of course, like I said...I can't win for loosing sometimes....ok ALL THE TIME! Get this, get that...something else goes wrong....pay for this buy that for school....then it's on to something else I don't have time to deal with. For once I wish that "easy button" existed. Or at least for me any way. I ask for one smooth day or one smooth situation that is all I would like. Just one! I think I just need my vacation! Which probably won't go smooth either! Those usually don't too just because it's me.
As much as I am excited about doing this weeks assignments with the finances and everything (cause god knows I need advice from time to time) but really this was the WRONG week to do this because if I'm going to be 100% honest with the one assignment of graphing what money I spent it's NOT going to be pretty!!! Let's just say we all are entitled to fun now and again right? This unexpected little spend of money came in the WRONG week but then again it usually does and I usually go with the gut feeling of DO IT, it's all a part of my obsession or hobby and who knows when the rug will be pulled out from under and it will all be over....keep making my memories while I can. I've earned the right to have a little fun here and there....RIGHT? Well, that's what I keep telling myself anyway. I'm always asking myself how can I afford some things, but I give up quite a bit to get quite a bit. Well, as long as I can keep making it work.
Right as I started school of course my really nice color laser printer had to bight the dust once and for all on me...I was able to make it 11 weeks without a printer. There were times I had to high tail it over to momma's house just to quick use her printer. (yet another benefit to living next door to your parents) However it was time today to just bight the bullet and buy something. Now, I could have just dealt with it and bought the cheapest thing Wal-Mart had a while back to "just have" something. But why waist the money on something I wouldn't have been happy with anyway! I mean I don't want to make it sound like I broke the bank by what I got but with the way my expenses are anymore picking and choosing the battle of what to spend money on and when are important. Well, it's come to the time of saying this is important.
Not having such a simple item for such a long time, especially since I am now going to school, has been really hard. For some things I have had to do I feel it's put me behind or have taken longer to complete tasks that I could have just printed out in only mere minutes. Hand copying to study has put cramps in my hand I am looking forward to not having. It's funny how excited I am that I even have to Blog about it. So the first thing I decided to do when setting this up is to update my "Goals Board" that I spoke about in a different Blog. Now, I like to print pictures & not just make it about a list of items or words attached to this bulletin board. Here is the new bucket lists that I have added to myself for the next several years to focus on...(in no particular order) *Visit Hawaii just to go see Pearl City, HI (Just because I live in Pearl City, IL) and Pearl Harbor *Visit The Holocaust museum *After much thought if that's still the direction I want to head, keep my past career goal of someday get my own Wal-Mart store. *Visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame *Move to Arizona *Run and finish the Boston Marathon (dream of doing this since I was little) *Go watch the NYE Ball drop in Time Square in 1919 to 2020 *Become a college graduate *Go to a Bulls/Celtics game That was a fun little project I have been wanting to update for a while now! Can't wait to look at some new and exciting goals/bucket list things just because I finally ponied up and bought a new printer. Now to make school work easier!!! |
